Summer might be the most anticipated season of the year, but it’s also the busiest. In fact, more than 45 percent of Americans take a summer vacation, including trips to the beach, national parks and more. Whether you’re planning a week-long trip or want to stay close to home, there are hundreds of ways to get out and enjoy the warm days ahead.
And whether you are on the road or at home, you don’t need to give up family activities. Need some ideas for your next summer outing?
Here are a few ways to bring the family together:
• Take part in National Night Out. A nationwide invite to bring communities together, National Night Out is the perfect time to plan a barbecue or potluck, invite the neighbors over and get to know the people who live in your community. To learn more about events happening in your community, check your local newspaper or visit natw.org.
• Plan an interactive family movie night — outside or anywhere. Watching your favorite movie doesn’t have to mean camping out on the couch anymore. Get creative with your viewing experience to make your next family movie night one that the kids won’t forget. Pick a unique movie, like The Goonies or Back to the Future, and then pick an equally unique place to watch it! The Touchjet Pond™ Projector can turn your backyard, park or even a rock wall at the beach into your own personal movie theater.
• Plan a mini-weekend road trip together. Family road trips are a summer staple and are even more fun when the whole group plans it. Pull out a map and let each member of the family pick a certain place nearby. Make sure to include each stop on the list as you begin preparing your route. Don’t forget the snacks, refreshments and a summer playlist as well!
